TODAY’S LIFE TO TOMORROW’S ETERNITY
We start our life on earth as babies…our parents do their best to give us all comforts, protection, love and affection to make us successful people. Some of us make our parents proud by working hard and fulfilling their desires. We acquire degrees, a good name and become worthy children. Unfortunately some of us do not reach that expectation of parents and make them feel bad. Why do such things happen? A good parent really imparts good values to his children. When the children fail, the parent tries to explain the failures and makes the children ready to face life and become successful. A man’s successful life is taught by the parents first, and then by the teachers in school and college and then through the other good associations they have in their lifetime.

If a person is not successful, it means that he is not on the right path. He is leading an irresponsible life, wasting his time and not giving priority to useful and good things, not knowing the difference between good and bad. Proverbs.16: 6 says: those who fear God always do good and run away from bad doings. Titus.2: 12 and 3:1 teaches us to be always ready to do good, which pleases the Almighty. To him who knows to do good and does not do it, it is sin (James.4: 17)

All of us wish to lead a victorious life on this earth. Such successful, god-fearing lives will help us to prepare for eternal life. As we prepare our small lives on earth to be more comfortable, happy, prosperous, we should always remember that this life on earth should also be helpful for us to prepare for that eternal kingdom. Though we have successful, comfortable lives here they are all temporary. We will all leave this world sometime but when we reach the other world, the works that we do on this earth are accountable, for which we are all judged. Eccl.12: 14. Some are judged to eternal life and some to eternal death. Rev.20: 14.

Specially as believers in the Almighty, we should live each day of our lives to prepare for that eternal kingdom, doing things which are right, helping others and living a life pleasing God, according to his word, living in faith with sound mind and righteousness.Titus.3: 14. Phil.4: 8-9 says, ”think on things which are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, perfect, good, so that the Lord of peace is always with you.”

I Tim.4: 6-16 teaches us that when we do exercise, it benefits the body and our body becomes healhier—when we live a righteous life in thought, word and deed, that benefits our inner soul and such exercise will lead us to eternal life.

Today’s life is material for every individual. He wants to become rich by hook or by crook. But do these riches take him to eternity? Today we had a glimpse of World Trade Center. It stood tall and strong like the tower of Babylon. But we understand God’s plan, which shows that this earthly life is not eternity. It is always temporary, like the tower of Babylon that fell down. Rev.18: 2, 10. The people mourned and wept for the city of Babylon .Oh! Babylon! You were so rich! Look what has happened to you now! We see a temporary earth that perishes! We are all waiting with hope to enter into eternal life, a life where we will live forever. This will happen only when Messiah is going to come as a King to judge our works. His judgment will decide whether we are going to eternal life or death.

When He comes this time, He will destroy the earth with fire and brimstone. The people who accept Him as their Lord will enter into the new earth that is New Jerusalem. Those who do not accept Him will be doomed to eternal death.

Dear reader, God loves us all. He created man to praise and worship Him, be faithful and accept Him as Lord and Savior. He does not want us to perish but to live with Him ever after. Read John.3: 16.  He is delaying His second coming because every person should be saved. II Pet.3: 9-10.

The gospel of His coming should be proclaimed to everyone. Matt.28:19-20. Every knee should bow down to His authority and every tongue should confess that He is the Lord and Savior of mankind. Rom.10: 10.He wants to take people from every tribe and every nation into the eternal kingdom.
Rev.7: 9. He wants representation from all the different tribes in that paradise. The paradise that was lost by Adam is going to be reconstructed again in New Jerusalem.

Are you ready for that eternal kingdom? Remember the parable of the rich fool (Luke.12: 13-21).
This night your soul may be required of you. Where have you laid up your treasure? Is it on earth where it is available to every thief or is it in heaven where it is safe and no one can steal?
St.Paul advises us to set our mind on things above (Col.3: 2), so ask the Lord to cleanse and purify us so that we may lead a godly, righteous and sober life and be ready for His coming. Halleluyah!
