(Assembly of Yahweh)

Monthly Spiritual Manna                                             TRUMPETS                                                      Vol.3: No.1. Nov 2002
With this issue of ‘Trumpets’ we enter our third year of sending you this newsletter. God (Yah) has blessed us bountifully these two years and enlarged our ministry so that we are preaching the Gospel to people who have not heard of the Messiah. All this is possible through the Almighty’s blessings and your continued prayer support. You can also send us your prayer requests and we will pray for you and be in agreement with you (Matt.18: 19)

Thanksgiving:
The word thank you is very much used as a sign of gratitude. My ‘heart felt thanks’ is also a phrase used to stress the importance of being very much obliged to the person who did something good for us. This confession of thanks by the mouth is considered a well-mannered life style of a person. But do we ever have time to thank God (Yah) for all the wonderful things He does in our lives? Because we do not see Him face to face, we don’t thank Him.
“In everything give thanks for this is the will of God (Yah), in Messiah for you.” (I Thes.5: 18)
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God (Yah).” (Phil.4: 6)
To thank God (Yah) for everything is His will for every human being even as we pray and request Him for your daily needs. He expects us to do it with thanksgiving.

Most of the Psalms proclaim praises and thanks for all the miracles King David received in his life. He asks all the people to praise Him for His mighty works in their lives. David praised God (Yah) 7 times a day, because of the righteous law that the Lord teaches. (Ps.119: 164). Because of this thanksgiving, David was victorious in his life. David’s source of blessings was the Almighty and not man. ’It is better to trust in the Lord than princes.’(Ps.118: 8, 9).
‘Praise ye servants of the Lord, both now and forever more. From the rising of the sun to its’ going down, the Lord’s name is to be praised’ (Ps.113: 1)
Psalm 150 ends with the verse ‘let everything that has breath praise the Lord’.

John.6: 1-14. We read about the feeding of 5000 with5 loaves and 2 fish. Yahshua took the loaves and gave thanks and distributed to those who were seated. He did the same with the fish. In such a hopeless situation, with only 5 loaves and 2 fish, Messiah thanked the Lord and the blessings flowed to feed the five thousand people, and there were 12 baskets of leftovers! The blessings overflowed and remained due to thanksgiving. Thanksgiving multiplies what little we have to sufficiency and contentment and satisfaction, which still continues as leftovers.

In Luke.17: 12-18, we read when Messiah healed ten lepers only one returned to Messiah, giving thanks, he fell down at His feet, glorifying God (Yah). There are many such instances where people thanked God (Yah) and received His blessings.

Paul and Silas praised the Lord when they were in prison and the foundations of the prison shook and the chains fell off the prisoners and the doors were opened. (Acts.16: 25, 26). Prayer full of praises breaks bonds.

There are many benefits we receive when we thank and praise the Almighty.
God (Yah) sits on the throne of our praises.
He loves to bless and prosper those who praise Him.
By praising Him, we gain His attention in our lives and when His face shines on people, He blesses them (Ps.67: 1)
When we give thanks we release the power of His blessings on us.
When we praise God (Yah) Satan will flee from us and his evil effect is destroyed.
Praising releases healing in our spiritual and physical lives.
By praising God (Yah) we accept His authority as our God and Saviour in our personal lives.
We see an increase and multiplication of financial blessings.
The wicked enemies flee from us, but the just and god-fearing people will enjoy His presence.
By praising and thanking Him for things we want in our lives, we build a prosperous future in our lives. ‘Whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you received it and thank Him’. (Matt.21: 22)

There are different ways of praising Him.

Singing with feeling and spirit, clapping hands and thanking Him, confessing, i.e. proclaiming the great miracles He has done in our lives. (Matt: 10: 32)

This month, most of the churches celebrate Thanksgiving Day, to remind the congregation to thank the Lord. But this is not an occasion to remember once a year. From the rising of the sun to it’s going down, praise ye the Lord. Every moment of our lives, from the time we are born till our death, we should praise the Lord.
Prayer:
We thank you for every good thing you have done in our lives.
We thank you for the fellowship of the word of Yah, making us strong in faith.
We thank you for our beautiful homes, families and children.
We thank you for love, peace and joy.
We thank you for the breath of life, food and all worldly prosperity. We thank you for our jobs and the blessings we receive from our earnings.
We thank you for saving us from sin and giving us abundant and eternal life.
Amen.
