Believe to Receive:
A pessimist thinks that there is nothing good in the world. An optimist thinks that the world is the best place. It is the same world where people think differently and their thoughts lead to their deeds. Belief starts in your mind and it takes time to receive what you think. You have to believe and you will achieve it. That thought of belief starts preparing you to work for that goal. That target of achieving your goal should start with a prayer, i.e., asking God (Yah)’s help to realize that goal. When a student wants to score excellent marks in exams, he has to start preparing, i.e., reading, writing, learning and studying the syllabus allotted. If he misses a few things in his preparation, he may not achieve his target. So he should pray for understanding, wisdom, knowledge and memory to reproduce the same in his exams.
Peter saw Jesus Christ (Yahshua Messiah) walking on the water and he also started walking towards Messiah. His faith was strong and he believed he too could walk on the waters. But the minute he saw the waves, his faith slipped and he doubted and started to sink. “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” Matt.14: 31.
Matt.21: 21-22.”If you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘be removed and cast into the sea’ it will be done. And all things, whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”
The Lord knows what we need. He is ready to give it to us if we ask Him. When we ask in prayer we must believe that our prayers will be answered.Luke.11: 13. “How much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?” Our prayers will be answered if we ask for good things. Have a good target, pray for it, believe that you have already received it and you will get it.
Sometimes the circumstances may not be favorable. At such times do not give up your positive attitude but continue to believe. When Jairus’ daughter was sick, he asked Messiah to come to his house and heal her. He had faith in the Lord. On the way to his house, Jesus (Yahshua) was delayed because a woman with an issue of blood wanted to be healed. Then his servants told him that his daughter was dead. But because of his belief in the Lord, his daughter was brought to life (Lk.8: 50)
We only need faith in Jesus Christ (Yahshua Messiah) and positive thinking. For men things may be impossible but for God (Yah) everything is possible (Matt. 19: 26). He says, ‘I am the Lord, I change not.” He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
Faith in prayer will make all thoughts positively converted to deeds (actions)Prayer can change and restore good from evil.
Matt.17: 20. If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to the mountain ‘move’ and it will move and nothing will be impossible for you.
We read in Matt.9: 27-29 how two blind men followed Him, calling out to Jesus (Yahshua) to have mercy on them. He asked them if they believed that He could give back their sight. ‘Yes Lord’, they replied. So Jesus (Yahshua) touched their eyes and said, ‘according to your faith, be it unto you’. The blind men received their sight. They believed and trusted the Lord to give back their sight. Because of the thought of belief they received their sight. We find the same belief in the woman with the issue of blood. She thought that by touching the hem of His garment she would be made whole. (Mk. 5: 25-34) Her faith made her whole. We read many such instances where Jesus Christ (Yahshua Messiah) healed people because of their faith. (Mk.6: 55-56) The reverse is also true. Unbelief or lack of faith will not produce miracles or bring about healing! Read Matt.13: 58. Because of the unbelief of His own countrymen, ‘He did not many mighty works’. Unbelief is the great hinderance to Christ's favours. Let us be faithful to him as the Saviour who has made our peace with God. In perfect faith there is no fear; the more we fear, the less we believe.
In Matt.17: 17, we read about a father who brought his son to the Lord to be healed. The disciples could not heal him. Then Jesus (Yahshua) rebukes his disciples and called them a ‘faithless and perverse generation’. It was because they did not have faith or belief in the Messiah that they could
not heal the sick and the demon-possessed and were put to shame. Those who trust in the Lord will never be put to shame. (Ps.25: 2)
We as Christians read the Bible and pray, maybe regularly or occasionally, but is Jesus Christ (Yahshua Messiah) real in our lives? Do we have faith or belief in His power? Are we having good thoughts that are converted into actions? Are we achieving great things and success in life? Or are situations making it impossible to achieve things? If we are not achievers or victorious in our lives, then it shows that we are lacking in our Christian faith. Our prayers can never go in vain. If they are so, we are like the prophecy in Isaiah.6: 9.”Go tell these people: Keep on hearing, but do not understand: keep on seeing, but do not perceive.”
Matt.15: 8-9.These people draw near to me with their mouths, and honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.
Do we believe that Jesus Christ (Yahshua Messiah) can do great things in our lives? Is He really in our lives, changing our lives, making us achievers or are we just like dumb men without any goal or vision in our lives? Where there is no vision the people perish (Prov.29: 18, 1 Sam.3: 1). Vision here means a goal or a target in our lives. If there is no goal in our lives, our lives will be meaningless and wasted and we perish. Therefore the goals should start in our thoughts and we should believe that we would achieve them.
If we believe in Him, we are accepting Him as our Saviour, that He has authority and power over our lives and He can do anything for us because of His love for us.
Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ (Yahshua Messiah) and you will be saved, you and your household. Acts.16: 31. Believe when He says, ‘I am come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly’ (John.10: 10) |
