The Work and Ministry of Angels:
Last month we saw how God (Yahweh) cares for us by sending His angels. We will study the subject of these supernatural beings and see how they affect our lives on a daily basis.
The word ‘angel’ is applied in Scripture to an order of supernatural or heavenly beings whose business it is to act as God's messengers to men, and as agents who carry out His will.
They are even sent to pour our God (Yahweh)’s wrath on man. Heb.1: 4 says they are sent to minister to those who are heir to salvation.
The existence and orders of angelic beings can only be discovered from the Scriptures. Although the Bible does not treat of this subject specially, yet there are numerous incidents and details that furnish us with ample information. Their personal existence is plainly implied in such passages as Gen.16:7, Gen.16:10, Gen.16:11; Judg. 13:1-21; Mat.28:2-5; Heb.1:4, etc
Angels are created by God (Yahweh). Col.1: 16, ‘For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and are in earth, visible and invisible…,’

Angels in heaven:
Angels worship God (Yahweh). Rev.5: 11-12, ‘Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.’ Here we see that the primary work of angels in the heavens is to praise and glorify the Father.  In Rev.7: 11-12 we read about the angels who stood round the throne and worshipped God (Yahweh).
Angels rejoice when a sinner is saved. In Luke.15: 10. it is written that there shall be joy in heaven over one sinner that repents.
Angels behold the face of God (Yahweh). (Matt.18: 10) In the Eastern countries, it was a privilege given only to ministers and high ranking officials to stand I the presence of a king. So also, in heaven, it is a privilege given to angels to stand and watch the face of God (Yahweh), ever ready and waiting to carry out His commands.
Angels present the prayers of the saints before God (Yahweh)’s throne. They offer incense along with the prayers of saints. (Rev.8: 3-4)

Angels on Earth:
Angels serve as messengers of God (Yahweh)’s wrath. In Gen.18, we read how three angels appeared to Abraham in Mamre, and told him of God (Yahweh)’s anger against Sodom and Gomorrah. Angels sometimes give advance information to men to save the lives of His chosen. Joseph was warned by the angel of the Lord to flee to Egypt along with the baby Jesus (Yahshua) , to escape Herod’s plan to destroy Him.(Matt.2: 13)
Angels act as men of war to protect His chosen. When the king of Syria sent his army to capture Elisha, his servant was frightened. But when his eyes were opened, he saw that the mountain was covered with horses and chariots of fire. God (Yahweh) had sent His angels to protect His servant Elisha. (2Kings.6: 15-17)
Angels can be God (Yahweh)’s agents to lead the battle and protect His children. When Joshua was near Jericho, he saw a man with a sword in his hand. As Joshua went near him to challenge him, the man said that he was the Captain of the host of the Lord. The archangel Michael himself had come to Joshua to help him in the attack. (Josh.5: 13-14)

Angels and believers:
Angels strengthen and minister to believers. The real office of the angels is shown here. It is to give service in working out the plans of God (Yahweh) for the salvation of the chosen. Each heir of salvation does not have a guardian angel, but the angels do service in working out the Divine plans in behalf of the saved. angels are sent to give us strength to resist temptation. (Luke.22: 43) they appear for the defense and protection of the people of God (Yahweh). It says in Psa.34:7, “The angel of the Lord encamps round about them that fear him, and delivers them. they attend dying saints, and conduct them to glory. Thus, the Saviour says of Lazarus that when he died he was “carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom ;”( Luk.16:22.)

Angels protect his children. When Daniel was thrown into the lions’ den, an angel of the Lord shut the mouths of the lions. (Dan.6: 22)
Angels discourage evil doers. When Balaam went to curse the Israelites, an angel of the Lord stood in the way and did not allow Balaam’s donkey to go forward. The angel told Balaam, ‘I went out to withstand thee, because thy way is perverse before me.’ (Num.22: 32). The holy angels are enemies of sin, and are employed more than we are aware of in preventing sin, particularly in opposing those that have any evil ideas against God (Yahweh)’s church and His people.
Angels appear unexpectedly. (Heb.13: 1). Some, like Abraham and Lot, have entertained angels unknowingly. So an unknown guest, may be an angel!. The Word tells us to love our neighbor like ourselves. So being hospitable to strangers will definitely be a blessing to us.

Thus we see that God (Yahweh) has a specific purpose in creating angels. They are here to guard us, protect us and guide us in our lives.
Release your angels by praying in the name of Jesus (Yahshua), by declaring that you are an heir of salvation, by declaring that they have been sent to minister to your needs.
