The Kingdom of God
The Kingdom of God is not meat and drink but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. (Rom 14:17). If you would like to live in such a kingdom, then what should you do?
First, we should live a righteous life. Do things which are right in the sight of the Lord. In whatever we do, we should be sincere, and do it with all our might. (Eccl. 9:10). When we do good things in life we have peace, our conscious is clean our, heart is clean, our thoughts are clean and good, so will our actions. James 5:22 says, ‘be ye the doers of the word’. God blesses righteous people.
God created man to bless and prophesy and give success in our daily lives. When he created Adam and Eve he blessed them and asked them to have dominion over the Earth. (Genesis 1:21). Adam was monarch of earth, sea and skies and all the living creatures in them. That was the kingdom given to Adam. Even today God (Yahweh) wants to establish the same kingdom on Earth. So when we pray we say in the Lord’s prayer…”Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is done in heaven…” We feel that the heavenly kingdom is far but if we try to live a life closer to Him in thought, word and deed, we will definitely feel the presence of God (Yahweh) and his kingdom in our daily lives.
When Messiah was on Earth, he gave us many examples of the kingdom of God through parables, which are written in the gospels. We see such a parable in Matt. 13:24. Messiah talks of the good man sowing good seed in his field but his enemies sowed tares in this field. So the farmer, who expects good fruit, finds tares growing along with wheat and waits till he reaps the crop to separate the wheat from the tares.
Yes, we as believers in Messiah, wish to lead a righteous life by doing good deeds so that the reward is good and fruitful in our lives, but unfortunately we miss our targets and are tempted by satan and get involved in evil deeds, which makes our lives unsuccessful and fall prey to satan's influences losing the good reward.
I have seen many a prayerful people moving away from the word of God (Yahweh), ruining their lives. Therefore Paul inspires us to be steadfast in faith, be strong in doing good things and pursue them continuously. As an athlete practices to win the race, we should have targets in life and achieve them. God (Yahweh) gives us the ability to do the good work and achieve it. (Duet. 18:8), where we see Abraham did good and listened to God (Yahweh)’s word. Abhimelech saw that Abraham was an achiever; he says “God (Yahweh) is with you in whatever you do”. (Genesis 21:22). It is written in Matt 13:12…” for whosoever has more will be given, and whosoever doesn’t have any, whatever he has will be taken away from him.’
I always use to wonder why the rich get richer and the poor become poorer! This principles are clearly told in Matt. 13:12 and in Matt. 25:14, where in the parable of talents, we see that the person who had 10 talents he was given one more talent from the lazy servant. But it was not given unto the person who had five talents. The lazy servant did not work and devised wicked thoughts about his master who had given a talent to him as free gift, to be used and be fruitful in life.
We as human beings are also given a number of talents to use in a right way, to do good to ourselves and to others, and to thank God for his wonderful mercies shown on us, but we are ready to accuse, blame others and our Creator. We are never satisfied with what we have, but always feel jealous when others prosper. We waste our time in bad things and loose God’s blessings.
So God (Yahweh) wants to bless 1)righteous people who do good, 2)humble people who with all meekness, strive and ask God (Yahweh) for his mercy and ability to be successful (Proverbs 22:4), 3) thankful people who have gratitude to those who help them on earth, and to their Creator who supplies all their needs. (Phil.4:19; 4:6). 4) Sincere and hardworking people who fear God (Yahweh)
and do their duty diligently. (Prov.21:5; 12:27; 13:11). He blesses the work of diligent people. (Psalms 128:2).
So when you live a righteous life you will do well and be blessed in number of ways. “Righteousness of the perfect will direct the way.” (Prov. 11:5). “Integrity of the upright will guide them”. (Prov. 11:3). Righteous character will help you to live a good life and also deliver you from death. “When righteous people live in city, the city rejoices”. (Prov.11:4).
The character of righteous man is described in Psalms15. Read it and practice it in your lives.
- A righteous man hates lying. Prov. 13:5.
- A righteous man keeps his ways blameless. Prov. 13:6.
- A righteous man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children. Prov.13:22.
- A righteous man does good and reaps the reward. Prov. 13:21
- He who speaks truth declares righteousness. Prov. 12:17.
- A righteous man obtains favor from the lord. Prov. 12:2.
- Fruit of righteous is tree of life. Prov. 11:28.
- A fruitful man brings health. Prov. 13:17.
- A righteous man is guided by the Holy Spirit. John. 14:26.
A righteous man will live a pure humble, grateful, diligent, hardworking, sincere, just and faithful life in the presence of God (Yahweh).Peace will rule his heart. The god of peace is with him. (Phil.4:9). Peace that passeth all understanding will guide their hearts and minds. (Phil. 4:7). This world cannot give us peace, but the Holy Spirit we can be at peace. Messiah said in John 14:27…”peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you not as the world gives you”.
This righteous man is at peace with himself, with his creator and the redeemer and with his neighbors. He’s never afraid of any situation because he has the inner peace spiritual peace, within him. He trusts God (Yahweh) at all times and knows the redeemer will remove all troubles. He encourages himself with the promises…” If God (Yahweh) is for us who can be against us” (Rom.8:31). And knows that the Almighty will never leave, nor forsake him. (Heb. 13:5-6.) So he is at peace. The righteous man is also happy. He rejoices with joy unspeakable. (I Peter. 2:8). Where there is peace there is joy. His tears are turned into joy. (Psalms 97:12). Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous and give thanks at the remembrance of his holy name. Let all those who seek you rejoice and be glad. So the kingdom of God (Yahweh) is:-
Righteousness to be seen in our lives.
Peace to reign in our lives.
Joy to fill our hearts and soul.
If we do things in a wrong way away from the word of God (Yahweh), we sin and are unrighteous, our hearts get troubled and we lose peace and we fear bad situations in life get into trouble, enter stressful, fearful, problematic life without success. So let us pray and ask for the holy spirit guidance to prepare to lead a righteous, peaceful and enjoy God (Yahweh)’s presence and his blessings in our daily lives, seeking the kingdom of God (Yahweh) and his righteousness then all these things will be added to your lives. Matt.6:33. May God (Yahweh) bless you, be with you in whatever you do. Amen.
