Victory through faith.
Faith is an important word in the Bible. Faith is where the promises and work of God are made real to His redeemed.

  • Ephesians 2:8-9, We are saved by faith.

  • Rom. 1:17, We live by faith.

  • Rom. 4:13, We receive righteousness by faith.

  • Rom. 5:1, We are justified in Christ by faith

  • Rom. 5:2, We have access to God's grace by faith.

  • 2 Cor. 1:24, We stand firm in our belief by faith.

  • Gal. 3:14, We receive the promise of the Spirit by faith.

  • 1 Tim. 1:4, We do God's work by faith.

  • Indeed, faith is very important; it is vital to the Christian.

Faith does not save you!   Faith is not something that you check with a meter.  Faith is not a cream you apply to protect you from something.  Faith is belief, trust.  The key to understanding faith lies in the OBJECT of faith-which is Elohim.   Faith in the true Elohim saves you.  Faith in the true Elohim results in salvation (Rom. 5:1; Eph. 2:8).  Faith in false gods results in damnation.
Faith is very important in the life of the Christian. It is by faith that you are saved; you are justified; cleansed, and look forward to the return of Yahshua. It is by faith that you please Elohim, admit your dependence upon Him, and continually rely upon Him.

Faith is defined by Easton’s Bible Dictionary as ‘in general the persuasion of the mind that a certain statement is true’. It means trust. Heb.11:1 states,’ Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen’.
There are many things in this world that hinder our relationship with Elohim. Three main things are:
a. The lust of the flesh b. The lust of the eyes c. The pride of life. These things can be summarized in one word:  SIN
Some other things which also hinder our relationship are: Anxiety, boredom, depression, fear, discontentment, fear, grief, loneliness…all negative feelings. These are also the results of sin or sinful thinking.

“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world; our faith.  Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” 1Jn. 5:4-5.
Let us examine how faith in Yahshua enables one to overcome the world...
The way to overcome these hindrances is through faith.  Victory comes to those who believe that Yahshua is what he claimed to be, viz. the Son of the living Elohim. We believe that he died on the cross for our sins and that His death is truly a sufficient propitiation or sacrifice for our sins (I Jn.2:1) and that He intercedes for us in heaven. Victory comes to those who believe in  what Yahshua said that He alone provides the way to eternal life, that He alone is the way to God, the Father (Jn. 14:6-7)
Peter confessed that Jesus has the words of eternal life (Jn. 6:68-69) When a person has such faith in Yahshua they look to Jesus for solutions to any problem they face. For those with an active faith in Jesus, their lives are built on a solid foundation like the wise man who builds his house on a rock (Lk. 6:47-49)

Faith comes from evidence. When we see Elohim’ creation, we believe that Elohim has created it, even though we have not seen Elohim. We see him in the world around us. Faith comes from reading the Bible, His word. “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" - Ro 10:17.

Faith is founded upon what the Word of God reveals. The Word of God produces faith in Yahshua by the evidence it provides; for example...
His signs and wonders recorded in the Gospels,
The testimony of eyewitnesses in the Acts and epistles.
As one meditates upon the Word of God regarding Yahshua  faith is developed!

A developing faith is a growing faith. Our faith should not be static but should grow daily, from faith to faith—from our faith to the faith of Messiah.( Rom.1:17).
If you have faith as a mustard seed (Lk.17:6).then it should also grow like the mustard seed which ‘is the least of all seeds, but when grown it is the greatest among herbs…’ (Matt.13:32). When the disciples could not heal a lunatic (Matt.17:16) Messiah rebuked them for their unbelief, which is translated to ‘little faith.’ The job was big but the faith was small. Growing faith will move mountains. Faith grows by obedience to the word.

Faith comes from speaking the word. Elohim spoke the word and the world was created. We should have the faith of Messiah, which can move mountains.Prov.4:20,’…attend to my words’. If you say Yahweh’s word, they are life.Rev.12:11,’And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony’.

Faith in Yahshua that leads to victory must come from the Word of Elohim!
The reason many people do not live victorious lives is a lack of faith. They have a weak faith because they do not read and study the Word of Elohim! Not only is their faith weak, but they often don't even
know the teachings of Yahshua that can help them to overcome the world! Faith in Jesus gives us the victory in overcoming   the world...whether it is overcoming sin or overcoming sinful thinking that hinders our relationship with Elohim.
