How does Elohim reveal himself to man?
We have seen how we can know the will of Elohim in our lives. Let us now see how Elohim reveals himself to us. We hear many stories of how the Lord appeared to people. Stories where Yahshua appeared to people and took them to heaven and showed them heaven, stories in which the person has seen the Heavenly Father himself. But we read in John 1:18,’No man hath seen Elohim at any time’. The only way we can “SEE” Elohim is the way he reveals himself to us.
Elohim has revealed Himself to the human race in four major ways: nature, the human conscience, the Person of Yahshua Messiah, and finally in the Bible. Each of these methods testifies to his existence. Humanity has no excuse whatsoever for rejecting him.
Creation: Psalm 19:1-4. "The heavens declare the glory of Elohim; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.”
By simply looking at creation itself we can have an understanding of Elohim’s personality. When we see the seas and the mountains, the galaxies and the size of the stars, we realize that Elohim is powerful. When we understand the complex structure of the atoms or cells, we can know how intelligent he is. The millions of types of living creatures are a proof of his creative power. So we can see that Elohim reveals himself through the Bible.
Rom 1:20,” For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and godhead; so that they are without excuse:” There are four forces that are invisible. The first is gravity. Every particle in the universe attracts every other particle. Have you seen gravity? It is invisible but you can feel its’ effects. The second is electromagnetism, like radio and TV signals. Can we see them? Can we see light waves? When light falls on an object, the object is visible. Can we see the light waves? 1 John.1:5 says Elohim is light. The third force is nuclear force. This holds the protons and neutrons of an atom together. Can we see this force? These forces disclose Elohim’s power.
Conscience: Elohim also reveals Himself through the spirit of humanity. Elohim has given to every individual a conscience to know whether things are right or wrong in spite of the laws made by human governments.
All societies have a certain moral code built into them in which stealing, lying, murder, and such are condemned. The existence of these moral laws points man to a Moral Lawgiver above the governments.
Rom 2:14-15, “For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;”
Yahshua Messiah: Elohim has also revealed Himself to the world through Yahshua Messiah .
Heb 1:1-2,”Elohim, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;”
Elohim revealed himself to humanity through his Son, Yahshua Messiah, who is "the radiance of Elohim's glory and the exact representation of his being" (Hebrews 1:3). Yahshua called Elohim his Father (Matthew 10:32-33; Luke 23:34; John 10:15) and said, "Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father" (John 14:9). He boldly claimed, "I and the Father are one" (John 10:30). After Yahshua' resurrection, Thomas addressed him as "My Lord and my Elohim!" (John 20:28). Yahshua Messiah was Elohim.
The Scriptures: The Scriptures reveal to us that Elohim exists, what He is like, what His will is for us, and even some of His dealings with people in the past. The Bible is not only the word of Elohim but has also proved itself to be true by the way many prophesies have been fulfilled.
In Exodus 3:14, Elohim revealed his name to Moses: "I am who I am." Elohim's name reveals that Elohim is self-existent.. The other names of Elohim, found throughout the Bible, offer additional insight into who and what Elohim is.
The Bible records statements Elohim makes about what he does: "I am the Lord, who has made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself," Elohim says in Isaiah 44:24. Elohim made all that is. And Elohim rules what he made. The Bible records the words of humans who describe what Elohim has done and is doing: The Bible is a book about Elohim and humanity's relationship to him.
2Ti 3:16,”All scripture is given by inspiration of Elohim, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” |
