The false prosperity gospel: Listen carefully to the tele-evangelists and most of time you will find that they end up telling you that in order to receive blessings (financial) and prosper, you must ‘sow a seed’, the seed being money given to the evangelists. They have twisted the parable of the sower and tell that the seed is money. The Bible clearly stated that the seed is the word of Elohim.  "God wants us to prosper financially, to have plenty of money, to fulfill the destiny He has laid out for us," Osteen wrote in a 2005 letter to his flock. The prosperity gospel (or the health and wealth gospel) teaches that Elohim desires the material, spiritual, and physical prosperity of his people. To become prosperous, all one has to do is speak your desire and receive it.
Messiah was born poor and he died a poor man. He preached primarily about the kingdom of Yahweh (Matt.4:17). When he spoke about riches, it was only as parables.

The Bible has very clearly laid down the guidelines for us to inherit Elohim’s blessings.
Prosperity comes when we dedicate ourselves to Him.
King Solomon had just completed building the temple and had dedicated it. He prayed for Elohim’s blessings upon his people and upon all who entered into it. Then Elohim spoke to Solomon and gave him this simple principle to prosper in this world. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”  2Chr.7:14.

Prosperity comes as a result of meditating on His word.
Psa 1:1:” Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
Jos 1:8:” This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

Prosperity comes when our soul prospers.
3Jn 1:2:” Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. “
Mat 6:33: “But seek ye first the kingdom of Yahweh, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

We must get rid of wrong thinking that poverty is a blessing, so that we may receive His abundant blessing. Poverty in the Old Testament was considered part of the curse of the law (Deut.28:15).  Elohim wants us to prosper just any father wishes his children to prosper. The Lord is happy to see his children prosper. “Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.” (Ps.35:27)

Prosperity comes when we have faith.
Faith is advance information given by the Lord. This information tells us what to do to obtain his favours. We should have faith in Elohim and his promises. Mat 21:22:” And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” Abraham had immense faith in the Lord. He walked only in His ways and according to His word. The Lord prospered him to such an extant that he was called a prince by the children of Heth (Gen.23:6).
Gen 39:2:” And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.” Joseph was blessed by the Lord even when he had troubles, but his faith did not waver. He went on to become the Prime Minister of Egypt.
We have to humble ourselves before Elohim and give our tithes to Him.
“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” Mal 3:10.

The prosperity gospel that is taught these days is a false gospel. Many tele-evangelists have laid up treasures on earth because their gullible followers support them financially. The gospel of prosperity is the fastest growing segment of Christianity today -- the Word-Faith Movement. Well-known personalities within the Word-Faith Movement include Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, Robert Tilton, Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyer Frederick K.C. Price, the list is quite long.
According to Word-Faith teachings, you can order your prosperity and Elohim will comply and make you healthy or wealthy. People are asked to ‘sow a seed’ and will see a hundred-fold returns. It is not ‘thy will be done’ anymore but ‘my will should be done’.

The Lord is happy to see his children prosper and he has also told us how we can prosper. Jesus says to us, "So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' ... your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well."
