The need for Salvation: Salvation means deliverance from sin. Elohim created this world and everything he saw was ‘good’. Then he created man in His own likeness. Everything was created just right for man. Then Elohim created a ‘help meet’ for man and man called her woman. Yahweh had given everything they needed. At the same time He also gave them free will. When satan tempted woman, both man and woman sinned by disobeying Elohim’s word. They exercised their free will and thus sin entered the world. Ever since, man has been walking down the road to destruction. The consequences of sin are separation for Elohim, sorrow and hard work.

It has been the plan of Yahweh that none should perish but all should have everlasting life. He sent His prophets to tell people to repent but they were ignored. So He sent His only begotten Son into this world to redeem all of us, who are sinners, from the bondage of sin. ‘According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love’ (Eph 1:4,).

We cannot earn salvation by ourselves but it is a free gift of Elohim. Eph 2:8,’ For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of Yahweh’. The Greek word for “grace” in Jude 4 can mean benefit, favor, or gift. Webster’s further defines “grace” as mercy or unmerited pardon. Grace is not something we have, it is Elohim’s grace. It is a free gift that He gives to us. To merit or receive His grace we must first repent. After we repent of our sins there should be a conversion to a new way of life. When we repent and are converted through the Holy Spirit, we are not under the penalty of the law, but under grace, because of Christ’s sacrifice. The penalty of law was death. Read Romans.6:23.

The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, knows all things and dwells in those who believe. The Holy Spirit dwelling in us causes our very body to become the Temple of God, since God the Holy Spirit is dwelling there. St.John.1:12 says,’ But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name’. Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?(I Cor.3:16). The Holy Spirit intercedes for us with groaning, teaching us to pray,(Rom.8:26), he searches our hearts (Rom.8:27), he talks to us (Acts 13;2, 16:6-7, Rev.2:7), he teaches all things and he reminds us of scripture (John 14:26). The Holy Spirit works in two ways in redemption, first the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, and then the Holy Spirit leads us to repentance of sins.

In the Old Testament days, the High Priest would enter into the Holy of holies once a year to make atonement for the sins of Israel. The High Priest was also a man, who was not sinless. So he had to first make a sacrifice for his sins and then for the people. ‘But Messiah being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us’ (Heb.9:11-12).
Yahshua Messiah came into this world to redeem us from sin. He came in fulfillment of Elohim’s promise in Gen.3:15. He came in flesh to obey the will of the Father (Heb.5:7).He was crucified for our sins (Matt.26:54). He came to share His eternal life with man (John.3:14-16).

Salvation demands that we should repent and confess our sins, we should also have faith in Yahshua Messiah.
Faith means being realistic and recognizing that there is a higher power. Heb.11 is all about great heroes of faith. Faith does not ask questions, it does not proceed to analyze things logically. Faith means recognizing the existence of God (Yah) and having confidence in the word of Yahweh. Yahweh Himself is the source of faith (Heb.12: 2).

Salvation is only through the Messiah. “Nor is there salvation in any other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts.4: 12)

Salvation helps us to see others in the light of Yahweh. Our attitude to life should be that of Paul, ’He must increase but I must decrease ‘. (John.3: 3). Paul, who wrote most of the epistles in the New Testament and was one of the greatest of the apostles, still considered himself the least of the apostles (I Cor.15: 9). Salvation changes our attitude towards Yahweh, towards men and towards our self. We understand Yahweh’s purpose in our lives. We begin to see people in a new light. Salvation brings a new approach to life, a positive attitude, to get right with Yahweh and with man.

Salvation means His life throbbing and reflecting in us so that others will see Him in us and through us. (Matt.5: 16).”Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven”. Salvation means forgiveness. “And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors” (Matt.6: 12). The joy of salvation compels us to go out and tell others about salvation (Acts.1: 8, Matt.10: 32). Salvation brings to life a new peace and joy. (John.14: 27). Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you, not as the world gives do I give you. It is the peace which passes all understanding. (Phil.4: 7).

This salvation is free, it is your today, if you just repent of your sins and ask Yahweh to forgive you! You too can experience a new life in the Messiah.
