‘Worry’er or Warrior?
Take a walk down the road on a busy day. Observe the faces of people around you, everyone busy in their lives. Most of them have a frown on their faces. Their faces are taut. If you speak to them, they look at you with distrust. They are all filled with worries. Man’s life is full of worries and sorrows. ‘Man that is born of woman is of few days and full of trouble’ Job.14:1.
What are people worried about? They are worried about their daily food, their health, jobs, relationships with their family and neighbors, finances, property, the list seems endless. A man wise in the ways of the world tries to plan for everything but he will never plan for eternal life. When he has too many worries, he goes to a psychiatrist who will tell him to think good thoughts and everything will be alright.

But why should we worry? Worrying accomplishes nothing. It is just a waste of time and will not solve anything. Worrying will not add a single moment to your life.
Mat 6:25,’ Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life…’. Do not be anxiously concerned about your life. Set your priorities on Yahweh and not on money and clothes and jobs. Too much worry causes ulcers and headaches! Trust in Yahweh. He has given you life and He will take care of all your needs.
Mat 6:27,’ Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?.’
Worrying shows a lack of trust in Yahweh. It means that you trust more in your own wisdom than in Elohim’s guidance. Don’t worry about anything, instead pray for everything. When you start worrying, your focus is on worldly things. Satan puts the seed of worry into your heart so that you do not think of Elohim. When our focus is on Elohim, all our worries start to grow small.

Our worry and concerns stem from our uncertainty about our future. Phil.4:6-7,’ Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.’ Instead of praying for worldly things, pray for heavenly things and blessings. Then all you need for this earthly life will be given. Mat 6:33,’ But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. ‘

Remember the story of Mary and Martha (Luke.10:38-42). Yahshua visited their house and Martha was busy looking after the guests, but Mary sat down at Yahshua’s feet, listening to his words. When Martha started grumbling, Yahshua told her that Mary had chosen what was better and it would not be taken away from her.
Remember, worrying shows a lack of trust in Elohim. Worrying is not good for your health, it will not accomplish anything, it shows that you have a wrong focus in life and it is not from Yahweh.

So, how do you overcome this worrisome habit of worrying?
1Pet. 5:7,’ Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.’ Whatever may be your problem, take it
to the Lord in prayer. He has a better plan for you.
Think good, positive thoughts. Phil.4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
Pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Messiah has promised us , in John.14:26,’ But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things..’.  When the Holy Spirit dwells in us, he guides us in the right way.
A Spiritual Warrior in the Christian faith is one who stands against the lies of the deceiver and holds forth the word of truth.
To be a spiritual warrior, we must first learn to discipline ourselves, by being obedient to Elohim. We hear of many people plunging into spiritual warfare because it sounds exciting, but they do not seek holiness or self discipline. "They(believers) know how to extinguish Satan's darts through faith. They have learned how to pray effectively. They find guidance and strength in their devotions. They feel confident to share their faith at every opportunity. They are discipled warriors."(Charles Lawless: Discipled Warriors).

The phrase “prayer warrior” is not found in Scripture, but a prayer warrior is a Christian who prays continually and effectively for others as taught in Scripture. Prayer warriors pray to Yahweh in the name of Yahshua. To be a prayer warrior is to engage in the spiritual battle and fight the good fight of faith wearing the full armor of God and praying in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests” (Ephesians 6:10-18).

The Christian life is a battlefield. Our enemies are the evil forces of the world today. Our enemies are self, the world around us and satan. To fight against them we must use the armour Elohim has given us. Eph 6:11-18,” Put on the whole armour of God…: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit’. Armed with the knowledge of who our enemies are and with our spiritual armour we will win the battle against evil.
