The Feast of Tabernacles.
Zec.14:17-19.  And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.  And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

The months September/October are very important to the Jews. Even for us today, they are important as these are the times when we are expected to celebrate the last great festival according to the Bible (Lev: 23). These festivals have been ordained by our Lord himself. Even while he was on this earth in his flesh, Yahshua Messiah observed these feasts. John chapter 7 deals with the account of Yahshua as he went up to Jerusalem for the Feast. There is no mention of him disobeying the law.

The Feast of Tabernacles is the third major feast in the Old Testament. At the feast of tabernacles, in the end of the common year and the seventh month of the religious year, there was a feast of ingathering (Ex.23:16) when all the fruits of the field had been gathered in. The reason for the feast day was to celebrate the end of harvesting. The first day and the last day were Sabbaths, no work was permitted.

Yahshua Messiah commanded his disciples to go to the feast (Jn.7:8) He is telling us even today to go and observe the Feast. The Feast of Tabernacles points to the first coming of Yahshua, his birth, as well as to the Second Coming of the Lord. If you read Luke chapters 1 and2, you will realize that Yahshua Messiah was born on the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles and not on Dec 25th as is popularly believed. Every Bible scholar admits this but they are afraid to proclaim this truth because, the god of this world has blinded everyone. (2 Cor. 4:4).

The Feast of Tabernacles was a reminder to Israel that they lived in tents or tabernacles during their journey to the Promised Land. They were dependent of the Lord for everything. The Feast of Tabernacles shows us that we are travellers in this world and our permanent dwelling is with the Lord. It shows us how insecure we are and that we should depend on the Almighty for all our needs. (2 Cor.12:9) .
The feast of Tabernacles represents the 1000 year rule of Messiah and the resurrected saints on the earth when salvation will be offered to all mankind. . After the second coming of the Lord, man will be at peace with his neighbor, there will not be any wars, no disease, the deserts will be green with vegetation.
At this time, all nations will learn to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. There will be no exceptions. Notice this plain prophecy: “And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left ofall the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles” (Zech. 14:16).

During the millennium, people will be required to go to Jerusalem to keep the Feast. (Zech.14:16-19). There is a blessing to be obtained in keeping this feast. Those who do not keep this feast will be cut off from the Lord.
One argument regularly heard from people against keeping the feasts is, "Messiah cleansed us from our sins so we no longer have to do keep the feasts”. These feasts never cleansed anyone from their sins. It is through the blood and sacrifice of Yahshua Messiah alone that our sins are forgiven. These feasts still continue to point to the Messiah.

Isaiah 66:23 shows that the weekly Sabbath will also be kept during the Millennium. Yet, many who know of this verse, and its plain meaning, refuse to keep Yahweh’s Sabbath today. They would rather find excuses to explain why Yahweh has no such requirement during the “Christian age” or “dispensation.”

Our motive in celebration should be as Yahweh originally intended; in remembrance and honor for what He has done. Yahweh said his feasts were to be celebrated "forever" (Ex. 12:14, Lev. 23:21, Lev. 23:41). Mal.3:6 says,’ For I am the LORD, I change not’. Yahweh never changes and so the way we worship him also should not change. The ancient rituals connected with the feasts are no longer binding on us as Yahshua, with his one sacrifice has done away with all sacrifices (Heb. 9:10). We should now focus on their prophetic and spiritual meaning as revealed under the New Covenant.
