A Christian’s walk:
Different people have different kinds of walking. Some people walk along leisurely, some bend to one side, some walk hesitatingly, some limp, some walk like they are running, etc. Some walk in a dignified manner and some dart around furtively. How is a Christian supposed to walk? Should he walk timidly or confidently? We are the children of the most high Elohim, our walk reflect our genealogy. I have given below a few ways in which a Christian should walk.

Walk in the newness of life (Rom.6:4): This and other passages that talk about the new life we have in Christ made me think.. new life means a new quality. A life that is completely different from the old one.
Think of the butterfly, when a caterpillar changes into a butterfly, no one can imagine its’ previous state. When we are baptized and start a new life in Messiah, our lives are changed in a similar manner. Our old thoughts, actions, habits, all change. Previously we could only crawl like a caterpillar, but now we fly, our youth is renewed like an eagle’s. When we are buried with Christ, it means we died with Him to our former sinful ways of living. True, we will still be tempted but those temptations have no power over us. 2 Cor.5:17: Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Others will see a change in him but cannot understand him!

Walk by faith (2Cor.5:7) : Walking is a position. Walking means that there is life in that man. Walking means that the man is making progress, he is moving to another place. When a man takes a couple of steps and stops that is not walking. “Walking by sight is deceptive. The eye does not see anything; it is the mind that sees through the eye. That those who walk by sight walk alone. Walking by sight is just this — "I believe in myself," whereas walking by faith is "I believe in God." If I walk by sight I walk by myself; if I walk by faith then there are two of us, and the second one — ah! how great, how glorious, how mighty is He!” (C.H.Spurgeon). Walking by sight means that we are trusting our vision and are influenced by the world. Walking by faith shows that we are walking under the influence od things unseen. This was the way Abraham walked, this is how the OT patriarchs walked.  By faith they learned the way in which they ought to go. By faith they received strength to prosecute their journey. Faith performs things impossible. This is how we as Christian ought to walk.

Walk in the spirit (Gal.5:16): Man’s life is one continuous struggle between the flesh and the spirit. Sometimes the spirit wins, sometimes the flesh wins. However there is such thing as striking a correct balance between the two. The spirit should always win ! This struggle has many benefits. It reveals to us our inner weakness. It kills our arrogance. It humbles us. It forces us ask God for help and teaches us to depend on the Lord alone.
How do we walk in the spirit? By setting our mind on the things above (Col.3:2), by setting our minds on the things of the Spirit which would be that which the spirit has revealed, the word of Yahweh.(Eph.6:17).
When our mind is set on the things of the Spirit, we will live according to the Spirit (Rom. 8:5), we will experience life and peace-(Rom. 8:6). When one walks in the Spirit, they will not fulfill the lust of the flesh (Gal.5:16), they will be led by the Spirit (Gal. 5:18) and they will produce the fruit of the Spirit (Gal.5:22-25). The instrument by which God strengthens the Christian is His Spirit in the inner man (Eph. 3:16. 1Cor. 6:19. By His Spirit, we are able to put to death the deeds of the body (Rom. 8:13). In this way the Spirit likewise leads us (Rom. 8:14; Rom. 8:11).

Walk in love (Eph.5:2) : Why is walking in love so important? If we call ourselves children of Elohim, we should also imitate Him. We should follow Yahshua Messiah as our example. He loves us and offered Himself as a sacrifice for or sins. He has given us a new commandment that we should love one another (John.13:34). “And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish
talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. “ (Eph.5:2-4). Our walk should
be free of any personal gain or profit. We also have the responsibility of being a positive influence in the world in which we live.

Walk in wisdom(Col.4:5):  The Word of Yahweh is very clear about how we as  Christians are to conduct ourselves  toward non-Christians. The sacrifice of Messiah has cleansed us from our sins, forgiven us our trespasses, and helped us to be gracious and kind to others by changing us. Because of Messiah’s example we are to be kind to others. Yahweh wants our conduct to be sympathetic, humble, patient, compassionate and kindhearted. These are only a few of the characteristics we should exhibit. We should also know how and when to talk and when to refrain from talking. The book of Proverbs is full of verses about wisdom and how to achieve it.

Walk in truth(3Jn.4): To walk in truth means to walk consistent with the truth you believe. If you believe that you are fallen, then walk wary of your fallenness. If you believe you are a child of Elohim, then walk like a child of heaven. If you believe you are forgiven, then walk like a forgiven person. To walk in truth means to walk in a way that is real and genuine, without any phoniness or concealment.(Guzik Bible Commentary) Our walk of truth should be noticed by others, and they talk about it because they see it

Walk after his commandments (2Jn.6): In Eccl.12: we read ’fear Yahweh and keep His commandments, this is the whole duty of man.’  John 14:15 “If you love me, keep My commandments’. Only when we keep his commandments, i.e., follow his commandments and live according to them, we can truly say that we love Him. If we don’t keep the commandments fully, we can not love Him fully. Love outside of Yahweh’s standards is only sentiment. A believer who sincerely, truly loves, walks in the truth. Man cannot artificially produce divine love by keeping the law. We should put into practice our love for Elohim.
Love makes obedience light. Divine love on the part of the believer bestows benefit on the object of his redemption, i.e., Yahshua Messiah. Keeping Yahweh’s will out of a sense of duty and with little love for Him is not true love. True love is response to Yahweh from the heart.
